Chapter Five  Dreams of the Future

In May of 2013, the State Council premier Li Keqiang took his first state visits to Pakistan and India in South Asia, which indicated that the new administration attached great importance to the bilateral economic and trade ties with South Asia. With favorable political backgrounds, as the starting point of the Southern Silk Road, Sichuan is the largest and closest provincial economy to South Asia. There are great potential and promising prospects for the trade cooperation, economic exchanges, and investment operations between Sichuan and South Asian countries.

Under the leadership of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, according to the strategic planning of the Full Implementation of Opening and Cooperation and South Direction Priority, CCPIT Sichuan will continue to contribute to South Asia – Sichuan Business Promotion Round-Table Conference, based on the theme of each year to strengthen communication and cooperation between Sichuan and South Asia in a wider filed for mutual development and prosperity.

Let’s gather in Chengdu and meet in June of 2014 for the Fifth South Asia - Sichuan Business Promotion Round-Table Conference.
