On March 21, 2022, CCPIT Sichuan Council held an online video conference with the Representative Offices of Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce in South Africa and Malaysia to exchange views on cooperation in 2022 and jointly promote the work of representative offices abroad. Mr. Zou Jiou, Secretary General of CCPIT Sichuan Council, attended the meeting.

Secretary Zou Jiou has one belt, one road, and the other two countries. He has fully affirmed the work of the representative office in the past year. He pointed out that Africa is an important direction and foothold for building the "one belt and one road". South Africa is the most developed country in Africa. We hope that South Africa's representative will take South Africa as a breakthrough and give full play to the advantages of liaison abroad to serve Sichuan enterprises to go to the African market. Malaysia is one belt, one road initiative. It is hoped that Malaysia representative office will continue to expand its channels of foreign liaison, make full use of the opportunity of RCEP implementation, invite important guests from Malaysia's business circles to attend major economic and trade activities such as China (Sichuan) - South Asian and Southeast Asian Business Leaders Summit, etc., to meet the needs of bilateral enterprises and promote inter trade investment cooperation.

Mr. Chen Yiqiao, chief representative of the South African representative office, expressed heartfelt thanks to the CCPIT Sichuan Council and the Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce for their consistent support. He said that in the next step, the South African representative office will continue to keep its original intention in mind and strengthen external liaison and service enterprises. It is suggested that Sichuan enterprises focus on mineral resources, power facilities, Sichuan cuisine promotion and other fields to expand the markets of South Africa and surrounding countries.

Ms. Chen Anli, chief representative of the Malaysian representative office, said that although it was difficult to carry out the work last year due to the adverse impact of the epidemic, she clearly felt that the trade exchanges between China and Malaysia were closer, which fully demonstrated the great potential of bilateral cooperation. This year, under the guidance of CCPIT Sichuan Council and Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce, and in combination with the specific needs of Sichuan's characteristic industries and advantageous products to go global, the Malaysian representative office will strengthen its work in agricultural products, auto parts, information exchange and legal services, so as to practically serve enterprises in our province.

The representative office of Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce in South Africa and the representative office of Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce in Malaysia were established in 2014 and 2020 respectively. They are jointly built by Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce, the Joint Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs and Business in South Africa and the Asia Nexus Trade Service Sdn Bhd.
