From June 30 to July 4, Dong Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Ｅxecutive vice governor of Sichuan Province, led a delegation from Sichuan to visit Bulgaria and Georgia. In accordance with the open development deployment of the provincial committee and the provincial government, the delegation showcased a new image of Sichuan's development, promoted mutually beneficial and win-win economic and trade cooperation, facilitated the "going global" of energy investment, deeply integrated into the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative", and expanded the space for opening up to the outside world. Further enhance the level of friendly exchanges between Sichuan and the two countries. Fan Jun, vice president of CCPIT Sichuan accompanied the delegation on the visit.

During the visit, Dong Weimin met separately with Doncho Barbalov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry of Bulgaria, Julian Balchev, Secretary General of the Investment Bulgaria Agency, Boyko Takov, Ｅxecutive Director of Bulgarian Small And Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, Slavi Binev, Vice President of the National Federation of the Belt and Road Initiative, Gulamishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and Gilgobiani, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Both sides exchanged views on promoting high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, enhancing the level of economic and trade cooperation, facilitating scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, and strengthening trade exchanges. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria and the Chinese Embassy in Georgia, visited the Institute of Mechanics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Georgian Railway Group and the Eastern Power Company, and officially exchanged an agreement on establishing a sister-city relationship with the city of Tbilisi.

At the China (Sichuan) - Bulgaria Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference held in Sofia, cooperation agreements were signed in three fields including economic and trade investment and medical and health care. At the China (Sichuan) - Georgia Energy and Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference held in Tbilisi, cooperation agreements were signed in four fields including clean energy and cultural tourism. Among them, CCPIT Sichuanl respectively signed memorandums of friendly cooperation with National Association of Small and Medium Business of Bulgaria and the Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Georgia. Dong Weimin said that the traditional friendship between Sichuan and Bulgaria and Georgia has stood the test of time, and the cooperation has achieved remarkable results and has broad prospects. He looks forward to jointly expanding the scope of cooperation, tapping the potential for cooperation, and achieving more fruitful results in economic trade, industrial development, cultural and tourism cooperation, etc., to promote mutual benefit, win-win results and prosperous development.
