On June 16, 2025, President Huang Li met with H.E. Majintha Jayesinghe ，Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China in Chengdu.

President Huang Li welcomed to Mr. Majintha for his visit to the CCPIT Sichuan Council and expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in China for its long-term support. She mentioned that in January this year, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka in Chengdu, where they had in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation between Sichuan and Sri Lanka in various fields, laying a solid foundation for enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. She briefly introduced the provincial conditions of Sichuan, the development of key industries, the functions and responsibilities of the CCPIT Sichuan Council, and the exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Sri Lanka. She stated that the CCPIT Sichuan Council will continue to play its role as a bridge and link to promote economic and trade investment cooperation between Sichuan and Sri Lanka. She invited Mr. Majintha to attend events such as the "Invest in Sichuan" International Supply Chain Promotion Conference and the Sichuan - South Asia and Southeast Asia Business Development Cooperation Conference to deepen and expand cooperation among business communities.
Mr. Majintha thanked President Huang Li for her warm reception. He said that the development and changes in Sichuan in recent years have been impressive. Sichuan has a solid industrial foundation and a large consumer market. He hopes to work with the CCPIT Sichuan Council to bring more high-quality Sri Lankan products to the Sichuan market and attract Sichuan enterprises to invest and develop in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is willing to work with China to jointly promote high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. He will actively participate in key economic and trade events organized by the CCPIT Sichuan Council to expand exchanges and cooperation with all parties.
