On December 2nd, 2025, the 2025 "Belt and Road" Prominent Overseas Chinese Merchants Tour in Sichuan, together with Sichuan’s "Overseas Chinese Empower Thousands of Enterprises and Products Going Global" Initiative, kicked off in Chengdu. With the theme of "Overseas Chinese Merchants Connect the Globe · Sichuan Products Go Worldwide", the event aimed to encourage more overseas Chinese merchants to visit and deepen their understanding of Sichuan and Chongqing, leverage the channel and resource advantages of the overseas Chinese community, and facilitate Sichuan community, and drive Sichuan-Chongqing enterprises and products to expand their reach globally. Over 300 participants attended the event, including representatives of renowned overseas Chinese merchants and business associations from 63 countries and regions such as the United States. Lian Xiaomin, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Pubu Dunzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Sichuan Overseas Friendship Association, attended the event and delivered speeches. Lei Xuejie, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of CCPIT Sichuan Council, was present at the event and participated in the launching ceremony of the Alliance for Sichuan’s "Overseas Chinese Empower Thousands of Enterprises and Products Going Global" Initiative.
At the opening ceremony, the Alliance for Sichuan’s "Overseas Chinese Empower Thousands of Enterprises and Products Going Global" was officially launched. Co-founded by the Sichuan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, CCPIT Sichuan Council, Sichuan Branch of China Post, and representative overseas Chinese business associations across five continents, the alliance is positioned as a non-entity cooperation platform. It aims to pool resources, give play to the role of collaborative networks, and establish a cooperation mechanism to support Sichuan-Chongqing enterprises and products in exploring international markets.
