On November 28, 2025,Mrs. Lei Xuejie, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Sichuan Council (CCPIT Sichuan Council), met with a delegation from the Health Community  of West Africa Association (HCOWA Association).  

Mrs. Lei Xuejie extended a warm welcome to the delegation and noted that West Africa is an important region for Sichuan to expand opening-up and cooperation to the west. She emphasized that the two sides enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and the big health sector. She expressed anticipation for further enhancing exchanges and cooperation with the HCOWA Association, making full use of exhibition platforms such as the "Chengdu International Health Consumption Expo. (IHCE)" and the "HCOWA West Africa Medical Industry Investment Summit and Expo" to support Sichuan enterprises in exploring the West African market. She also called for deepening cooperation between Sichuan and West Africa in areas including medical technology innovation and industrialization of herbal planting, so as to jointly explore new space for development.  

Mrs. Jiang Sihong, President of the HCOWA Association, expressed sincere gratitude to CCPIT Sichuan Council for its long-term support. She hoped to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and build more pragmatic platforms for medical enterprises' product export and the international dissemination of TCM culture.  

Dr. (MH) Yusuf Yakubu Tobor,  Director-General of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC), Ghana, briefly introduced Ghana's national conditions and the current development status of its medical and health industry. He expressed the wish to introduce more advanced technologies of traditional Chinese medicine and regulate the development of the local herbal industry through standardized production systems, so as to provide better medical services for the people of Ghana and the West African region.  

Prince Opoku Dogbey,  Vice President of the Health Community of West Africa Association;  Nyagblornu Nicholas,  Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS); Wang Guangjun, Vice president of CCPIT Sichuan Council; and relevant personnel from the International Relation Department, Trade and Investment Promotion Department of CCPIT Sichuan Council, and Sichuan Chamber of International Commerce attended the meeting.
