On February 3, 2026, Mr. Akmal, the Consul General of Malaysia in Kunming paid a visit to CCPIT Sichuan. Vice President Lei Xuejie received the delegation.

Vice President Lei Xuejie thanked the Consul General Akmal for his long-term support. She briefly introduced the recent economic and trade exchanges between Sichuan and Malaysia. She stated that Malaysia is an important trading partner and investment destination for Sichuan. It is hoped that the Consul General would make good use of the platform functions of the China-ASEAN Business Council Sichuan Liaison Office, organize representatives from Malaysian government agencies, business associations and enterprises to attend major economic and trade events such as the Sichuan-South Asia and Southeast Asia Business Development Cooperation Conference, The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services, and  China (Chengdu) Smart Industry International Expo, and promote complementary cooperation between Sichuan and Malaysia in industries such as artificial intelligence, equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, food and beverages, and new energy vehicles.

Consul General Akmal expressed his gratitude to CCPIT Sichuan. He stated that he would actively support the various economic and trade activities held by CCPIT Sichuan, promote the business environment, investment policies and park projects of Malaysia, and provide necessary facilitation for Sichuan enterprises to invest in Malaysia and enter the ASEAN market.
