Known as the "Land of Abundance", Sichuan is located in the hinterland of southwest China, covering an area of 486,000 square kilometers, administering 21 cities (prefectures), 183 counties (districts) with a population of 83 million. It is China’s large province in economy, population, resources and science and education. In 2021, Sichuan’s GDP reaches 5.39trillion yuan (849 billion USD), ranking 6th in the country and 1st in the west, with a year-on-year growth of 8.2%.

ⅠComplete industrial system

Sichuan is one of the China's three major power equipment manufacturing bases and one of the four major electronic information industry bases, with 193 industrial parks of various types. The main business income of the five pillar industries, including electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and beverage, advanced materials, energy and chemical industries, exceeded 4 trillion yuan (619 billion USD), and the total digital economy exceeded 1.4 trillion yuan (217 billion USD).  Sichuan is vigorously developing big data, 5G, AI and other digital economy, accelerating the deployment of new energy vehicles, energy conservation and environmental protection, biomedicine, rail transit, power and energy storage batteries and other strategic emerging industries, and building a modern industry system with Sichuan characteristics system.

Ⅱ Convenient transportation facilities

The total mileage of railways and expressways in operation in Sichuan reaches 5,209 kilometers and 7,520 kilometers respectively. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport opened 126 international (regional) routes. In 2020, the passenger throughput reached 40.74 million, ranking 2nd in China. As the Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is put into operation in 2021, Chengdu has become the 3rd city with two international airports inChina.

Ⅲ Abundant natural resources

Sichuan has 26 world-class tourism, in which Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong and giant panda habitats are world natural heritages, Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan is a world cultural heritage, Emei Mountain-Leshan Giant Buddha is a world cultural & natural heritage. Cumulative proven reserves of natural gas and shale gas both rank first in China. The reserves of vanadium, titanium, lithium, iron, and rare earth are among the top in China, too. With the forest coverage rate of 39.6%, Sichuan is also an ecological barrier for the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and Yellow River.

Ⅳ Strong scientific and educational strength

Sichuan is one of the eight areas where the central government systematically promotes comprehensive innovation reform experiments. It has multiple major regional innovation platforms such as China (Sichuan) Free Trade Pilot Zone, Chengdu National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, Tianfu New District, Mianyang Science and Technology City, etc. There are 24,700 academic education schools including 126 universities, 14 national key laboratories, and 265 national and provincial engineering technology research centers.
