On February 21, 2017, vice president Li Li from CCPIT Sichuan Council met Mr. Kebede Abera, Consul General of Ethiopia to Chongqing and his delegation.

Vice president Li Li extended his welcome to Consul General Abera's visit to Sichuan Council. Ethiopia has been in good relation with China for a long time. Since the Consulate General of Ethiopia in Chongqing was set up, Sichuan Council has kept a good communication with it. The airline from Chengdu to Addis Ababa (Capital of Ethiopia) to be opened in June this year will provide conveniences for the economic and trade communication and personal visits between Ethiopia and Sichuan. CCPIT Sichuan Council will expand the communication with Ethiopia and strengthen the mutual beneficial cooperation between the two sides.

Consul General Abera thanked Sichuan Council for its constant support of the job of Consulate General. Ethiopian economy has been keeping a steady 12-year increase, and it has become a booming investment target for China and many other countries. Sichuan enterprises are the new investment force only secondary to those enterprises in coastline cities of China. Up to now,  five Sichuan enterprises have invested in Sichuan, and he hopes more Sichuan enterprises will be going to Ethiopia and build up Sichuan industrial parks. There are great potentials for the cooperation of Ethiopia and Sichuan on manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, energy, industrial park, tourism, etc. Consulate General of Ethiopia has been keeping a close relation with Sichuan and Chongqing and working on the customs clearance, storage, logistics, etc., in order to pave the way for an China inland province trade with Ethiopia. Consul General Abera also gave a introduction of the Ethiopian delegation to China next May.
