The 4th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftersale Services (CAPAS) Held Successfully

From May 25 to 27, 2017, the 4th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftersale Services (CAPAS) was held in Chengdu, sponsored by CCPIT Automotive Council, Messe Frankford (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., CCPIT Sichuan Council.

This fair took a total area of 45,000 square meters, with 522 exhibitors and 16,000 professional participants from China and overseas. 22 additional events were also held during the fair, such as 2017 China Automotive Entrepreneurship Investment Summit & China (Sichuan) New Energy Automotive Industry Investment and Cooperation Conference.  

There are the following characteristics about this fair held in Chengdu:

1. It reaches a high internationalization level, with major countries and regions organizing their groups to attend the fair. Trade Promotion Agency of Japan and Hong Kong Labor Force Promotion Council both organized their respective groups to attend the fair. Italy, Bangladesh, etc., organized their purchase groups to attend the fair.

2. It is highly professional and marketized, with 6 upgraded brand new sectors. Based on the market characteristics of southwest China, 6 upgraded sectors were set up including "Commercial Vehicles", "New Energy", "Supply Chain Purchase and Distribution", "Quick Repair and Quick Wear Parts", "Car Accessories", and "Sichuan Enterprises".

3. It is a fair of first-tier brands, highlighted by new energy automotives. For the first time, "2017 China (Chengdu) New Energy Automotive Exhibition" was especially set up, taking a total exhibition area of 10,000 square meters, with 18 famous new energy automobile brands from Sichuan, China and overseas, such as Tesla, Changan, YEMA Sichuan, etc.

4. There is high coordination between the province and city level, with an overall quality enhancement of Sichuan sector. Sichuan exhibition sector takes a total area of 7,875 square meters, 9% up from last year; a total of 137 exhibitors, 10% up from last year. 10 major automotive cities organized their own groups for participation, including Deyang, Mianyang, Guangyuan, Neijiang, Leshan, Nanchong, Yibin, Gu'an, Ya'an, and Ziyang. According to statistics, on-site turnover of Sichuan Exhibition sector has reached RMB 1 million and the intended cooperation amounts reached RMB 90 million. Chengdu Xin Zhu Tonggong signed purchase order of 800 new energy logistics vans and buses, a total value of RMB 80 million, with Chengdu Bianmin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing Di Wan New Energy Co., Ltd., Chengdu Chang Ying Automobile Rent Co., Ltd., and Hanyuan Cheng Xin Public Transportation Co., Ltd.

5. There is high trade and investment integration on the fair. 19 professional purchase groups from 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipal cities in China attended the fair. Famous internal and foreign automotive brands like Cherry Automobile, BAIC Group, Geely Group, Singuato, ZD automobile, charging post, etc, participated in the trade fair, accelerating investment and cooperation with enterprises in Sichuan province.

6. Additional events are held during the fair, with update information shared.  There are 22 additional events including new energy and intelligent network, commercial vans, automotive repair and maintenance, car accessories and car refit, etc., providing the participants with a chance for information share and business network consolidation with the support of industrial expertise.

Among these events, 2017 China Automotive Entrepreneurship Investment Summit & China (Sichuan) New Energy Automotive Industry Investment and Cooperation Conference provided a platform for discussion on the new opportunities in China's automobile industry transformation, and for automobile exchange, trade and investment. Zhu Hexin, Vice governor of Sichuan People's Government, attended the summit and gave a speech. Wang Xia, president of CCPIT Automotive Council, Ge Jingdong, vice president of Sina, Wei Jie, scholar from Center for China Economy Research, Tsinghua University, and senior officials from BAIC Group, Cherry Automobile, Geely Group, made their speeches at the conference. 400 people, including representatives from European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, Japan Automobile Manufacturers' Association, senior officials from 40 famous automobile brands like BMW, Daimler, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, etc., officials from 9 countries' consulates or embassies in Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming, such as America, France, Poland, Canada, Italy, Bangladash, etc., Hong Kong and Macao members of Sichuan Political Consultative Conference, officials from CPC Committees or governments of Chengdu, Deyang, Mianyang, Suining, Neijiang, Nanchong, Guang'an, Dazhou, Ya'an, Meishan, Ziyang, etc., officials from the related departments provincial government or municipal city, and Chinese and foreign reporters, attended the conference.
