From August 10 to 13, 2017, the "Food Promotion Activities of Portuguese-Speaking Countries in Chengdu" was successfully held in Chengdu. This event was sponsored by Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and assisted by CCPIT Sichuan Council.
During the event, Lv Furong, vice president of CCPIT Sichuan Council met with the delegation led by Wu Aihua, Executive member of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening economic and trade cooperation among Sichuan, Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries, promoting development of food industry, environmental protection, intelligent manufacturing, investment and exhibitions, and facilitating bilateral practical cooperation between enterprises by giving full play to their advantages and integrating into the regional development.

The Portuguese-speaking countries include 8 countries (in no particular order): Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome & Principe, East Timor. Scattering across four continents with a total population exceeding 260 million, these countries offer broad market prospects.
