On September 28, 2017, co-organized by China National Food Industry Association, Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Department, and Meishan People's Government, the 9th Chinese Pickle Expo opened in Meishan. The expo is themed on "Chinese Pickles Connecting the World", and the opening ceremony was hosted by Zhu Chunxiu, director of Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Department. The opening of 9th Chinese Pickle Expo was announced by Peng Yuxing, vice governor of Shichuan Province. Lv Furong, vice president of CCPIT Sichuan Council attended the Expo's opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Meishan was granted with "Hometown of Sichuan Food in China", "An Industrial Reserve for China's Traditional Nutritious and Healthy Food", and was awarded with "Sichuan Top 10 Pickle Brand Enterprise" plate.

From 2009, Chinese Pickle Expo has been consecutively held in Meishan for 9 years. As a professional pickle expo of the largest scale and highest level in China, this expo took an exhibition area of 13,000 m2, and attracted pickle enterprises and food enterprises from various places of the world and China. Chinese Pickle Expo is gradually building up its publicity in the world pickle industry.

Four exhibition sectors were set up respectively for Chinese and overseas pickles, Meishan pickles and condiment enterprises, Dongpo-flavored special agricultural products, and Dongpo-flavored food. During the exhibition, 18 more activities were held including Chinese pickle academic seminar, "Dongpo-flavored" products introduction and contracting promotion, "Chinese Pickle Connecting the World"summit talk, Dongpo delicacy and Sichuan food summit talk, renowned overseas Chinese entrepreneur entry to Meishan, guests experience, Miss World Environmental Protection public benefit promotion, folk performances, etc.

During the conference, CCPIT Meishan Council presented a report on Meishan pickle's development in “Belt and Road Initiative” markets including India, and showed its hope to participate in CCPIT Sichuan Council’s 2018 delegation to visit overseas markets. Vice President Lv Furong made requirement on market development, products marketing, base construction and "Internet+ pickle industry", etc, saying that Meishan’s pickle is a "small product with big industrial potential".
