On May 13, 2019, Ms. Lei Xuejie, Vice President of CCPIT Sichuan Council met with Mr. SurezEkaya, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of civil aviation of Nepal.

Ms. Lei welcomed Suresh Ekaya and his delegation, and pointed out that she will actively implement the development deployment of "Highlighting the South" policy proposed by the Provincial Party committee and the Provincial Government, and always attach importance to exchanges and cooperation with Nepal. Over the years, CCPIT Sichuan Council has been committed to building the " China (Sichuan) - South Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation Round Table Conference " platform, and has established close ties with Nepal Federation of Industry and Commerce, Nepal China industry and Commerce Association, Nepal China Economic Association, to create communication opportunities for both sides. CCPIT Sichuan Council will continue to strengthen cooperation with Nepal in the future.

Mr. Sulais Ekaya thanked Ms. Lei and CCPIT Sichuan Council for the warm reception. He said that the two international airports under construction in Nepal will be completed and put into use in 2020 and 2021 respectively, and 2020 will be designated as Nepal's tourism year of light, which is expected to attract 2 million foreign tourists, with huge air transport potential. He hoped to take this opportunity to discuss international flight registration and helicopter service with local airlines and relevant enterprises. Ms. Lei replied that during the "China (Sichuan) - South Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation Round Table Conference" last year, we had an exchange with Minister Pandit, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of Nepal and Mr. Bahadur, the mayor of Pokhara city of Nepal, who attended the conference, about the construction of a new airport in Pokhara city. This time, we have coordinated and arranged a meeting between relevant enterprises and delegations in Sichuan, and wish the exchange can be effective.

After the meeting, the delegation visited Sichuan Airlines, Sichuan Changlong airlines, Sichuan Haite group, etc. to discuss the possibility of opening a new route between Chengdu and Nepal, the maintenance and repair of commercial aircraft and helicopters, the training of pilots and flight attendants, etc. it is expected that there will be further cooperation in the future.
