On April 15, 2019, Ms. Lei Xuejie, Vice President of CCPIT of Sichuan Council met with Mr. Varodom Pitakanonda, Chairman of the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce of Thailand.

Ms. Lei welcomed Mr. Varodom and introduced Sichuan Province, Responsibilities of CCPIT Sichuan Council and its Overseas Sichuan Products Exhibition and Sales Center, as well as the upcoming "China (Sichuan) - South and Southeast Asia Business Leaders Summit", "6th Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services", "the 4th China(Chengdu) Smart Industry International EXPO" and other major economic and trade activities, and invited Thai enterprises to organize delegations to Chengdu to observe and participate in the events. As  Belt and Road Initiative is implemented, Sichuan and Thailand have closer economic and trade cooperation. She hopes to set up a Sichuan Exhibition and Sales Center in Chiang Mai in the future, and Chiang Mai can set up a representative office in Chengdu as well.

Mr. Varodom thanked CCPIT Sichuan Council for its support to Chiang Mai chamber of Commerce in Thailand, and introduced the basic situation of Chiang Mai City and chamber of Commerce to Ms. Lei. He said that both Sichuan and Thailand are dynamic and potential markets. He hoped that both sides would strengthen economic and trade and people to people and cultural exchanges, make full use of cross-border e-commerce as a platform, and promote practical cooperation between bilateral enterprises. At the same time, he also introduced the "Thailand style week" held in Chengdu in the middle of May, and invited us to organize relevant enterprises to visit, experience and negotiate with each other.

Relevant personnel from Exhibition Department, Conference Information Department and International Cooperation Department accompanied the meeting.
