On September 25, hosted by CCPIT Sichuan Council, CCPIT Chongqing Council, Chongqing Committee of Agricultural and Rural Affairs and Jiangbei District People's Government of Chongqing Municipality and supported by Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department, Sichuan Provincial Department of Agricultural and Rural Affairs and Sichuan Provincial Big Data Center, “Meeting Sichuan & Chongqing: International Integrated Fair”(hereinafter referred to as "Fair") was opened online and offline in Chengdu and Chongqing at the same time.

Mr. Zhang Shenfeng, vice president of CCPIT, said in a speech that Sichuan and Chongqing is the important point of intersection between the two sides of the Yangtze River economic belt and The Belt and Road Initiative. CCPIT Sichuan Council and CCPIT Chongqing Council jointly organized the Fair, which is of great significance for promoting international economic and trade cooperation and promoting the formation of a new development pattern.

This fair attracted 140 enterprises from Sichuan and Chongqing to settle in offline booths, bringing together Sichuan and Chongqing brand enterprises with their star products for on-site display and online live promotion.

At the same time, the standardization of food and cooperation in agriculture and food became the focus of the discussion.

On the fair, Mr. Ko Beom Seo, chief representative of Chengdu Representative Office of Korea International Trade Association, also came to the exhibition. In an interview, he said the exhibition was "eye opening". "Sichuan is so rich in foods with a wild range of categories.”

Ko said that many Korean enterprises came to China before, first of all, they went to coastal cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. He did not expect that Sichuan in the Midwest has so much agricultural products and food. He said he hopes to promote more cooperation between Sichuan and South Korean enterprises in the future.

“In the past, Sichuan and Pakistan have frequent trade exchanges, Sichuan will import some fruits and food from Pakistan, and Pakistan will import electronic goods from China”, said Mahmood, acting Consul General of Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu. "Many flights have been cancelled due to the epidemic this year, but in my opinion, there are more opportunities for trade cooperation between China and Pakistan in the future." In Mahmood's view, the two countries can carry out more cooperation and exchanges in the fields of medicine and tourism in the future, and he also welcomes more tourists from Chengdu to Pakistan for tourism.

It is reported that this Fair is another special procurement fair jointly held by CCPIT Sichuan Council and CCPIT Chongqing Council in July this year since the 2020 Sichuan (Chengdu) auto & parts International Fair. It aims to implement the national strategic deployment of Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle Construction, promote the "10+3" construction of Sichuan agriculture and Chongqing agricultural modern industrial system, highlight Sichuan & Chongqing superior products such as food, beverage, hotpot, seasoning, tea, fruits and vegetables, etc., and cooperate to create a platform for economic and trade cooperation of agricultural special products, and help smooth the "double cycle" of domestic and international.

The event has led to seven online signing between Sichuan and Malaysia, Chongqing and Singapore, Australia, and Sichuan and Chongqing enterprises, involving an amount of more than 87 million yuan.

In the same period, CCPIT Sichuan Council also held the " China (Sichuan) - South & Southeast Asia Business Leaders Online Conference", invited guests from South Asia and Southeast Asia business sectors to participate online and offline, deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation and promoted southward cooperation.
