In order to strengthen the economic and trade exchanges and promote business communities cooperation between Sichuan, China and Isfahan, Iran, in the post-Covid19 pandemic, CCPIT Sichuan Council and the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agricultural held an online meeting on January 28. Ms. Lei Xuejie, Vice President of CCPIT Sichuan Council and Ms. Amini, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting and signed the "Memorandum of Understanding" online.

During the meeting, Vice President Lei Xuejie stated that it is of great significance to hold this special online meeting in the context of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran. The industries of Isfahan and Sichuan are highly complementary, and there is great potential for cooperation between the two sides. As a trade and investment promotion agency led by Sichuan provincial party committee and government, CCPIT Sichuan Council will actively build a full-service system, strengthen ties with Iran, carry out more online and offline bilateral economic and trade exchange activities, and promote more practical two-way trade and investment cooperation.

Ms. Amini stated that Sichuan is a prime industrial province in western China and Isfahan is Iran's major industrial province, which provides a good foundation for cooperation between the two sides. Iran has huge investment potential in the steel, petrochemical, minerals, stone, handicrafts and textile. It is hoped that with the support of CCPIT Sichuan Council, more Sichuan enterprises will be attracted to Isfahan, seeking for business opportunities and exploring markets.
Mr. Zou Jiou, Secretary General of CCPIT Sichuan Council and Dr. Ebrahimi, Head of economic, International & marketing Bureau of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, gave a presentation on Sichuan and Isfahan respectively. The two sides also discussed on cooperation they are interested in, such as wastewater treatment, tourism, and infrastructure construction.
