On November 26, the China-Pakistan Business Council Sichuan Liaison Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Office") held a viewing event for Pakistani film Parwaaz Hai Junoon in Chengdu. Mr. Li Gang, the Vice President of CCPIT Sichuan Council, and Mr. Mahmood, Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, together with 54 people from other Provincial departments, Sichuan Enterprise Representatives and Pakistani students in Chengdu, participated in the activity. This film is the first Pakistani film to enter Chinese theaters since 1975. It tells the story of the youth of the Pakistan Air Force who overcame difficulties and finally grew up, and devoted his life to protect his motherland and people.

In the post-viewing communication session, Mr. Zou Jiou, Secretary-General of CCPIT Sichuan Council, stated that the purpose of this activity is to promote China-Pakistani friendship and strengthen Chinese audiences’ understanding of Pakistani films and culture. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. The Office will take this opportunity to carry out more pragmatic cooperation with Pakistani institutions, including the Pakistani consulate general in Chengdu, and actively promote more China-Pakistan economic, trade and cultural cooperation and exchanges.

Acting Consul General Mr. Mahmood thanked the Office for organizing this film viewing activity and for its consistent support to Pakistan. He pointed out that the friendship between China and Pakistan has a long and profound history and will last for eternity. On the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries, the Consulate General will continue to inherit and carry forward the friendship and, as always, assist the enterprises of both sides to actively integrate into the construction of "Belt and Road" and the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor".

The Office was established in February this year with the approval of the China Chamber of International Commerce and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. It aims to further promote economic and trade cooperation between Sichuan and Pakistan and build a broader platform for bilateral business exchanges and cooperation. Based on economic and trade exchanges, in the future, the Office will continue to actively play the role of a bridge and link and to promote China-Pakistan cooperation in culture, tourism, education and other sectors.
