On May 6-7, 2021, Mr. Gabit Koishibayev, Kazakh Ambassador in China and his delegation visited Sichuan. During his visit to Sichuan, Governor Huang Qiang met with Ambassador Mr. Gabit Koishibayev and his delegation and jointly attended the online signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Sichuan Province of the People's Republic of China and Almaty City of The Republic of Kazakhstan. Mr. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee of Sichuan Province and Governor of Sichuan Province, and Sagintayev, Mayor of Almaty City of the Republic of Kazakhstan, respectively signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between Sichuan Province of the People's Republic of China and Almaty City of the Republic of Kazakhstan online on behalf of the two sides and delivered a speech. Mr. Koishibayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan in China, Mr. Miao Hongbo, Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty attended the ceremony and congratulated them. Governor Huang Qiang pointed out that next year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Kazakhstan. Sichuan Province's friendship with Almaty is of great significance to further enriching and developing the connotation of the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and consolidating and deepening the deep friendship between the two peoples. We hope the two sides will continue to deepen China-Europe railway express cooperation, establish an exchange mechanism for visits, build more exchange platforms, deepen practical cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, education and other fields, and make more achievements in high-quality joint construction of the "One Belt And One Road". During the meeting, Governor Huang Qiang asked CCPIT Sichuan Council to actively promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Ambassador Gabit Koishibayev pointed out that the signing of this MOU will not only boost the in-depth development of Kazakhstan-China sub-national cooperation, but also play a positive role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of bilateral cooperation in various fields. It is hoped that Sichuan will work together to put the Chengdu-Almaty air route into full operation, expand trade cooperation in agricultural products, coordinate and support the visa-free transit policy for Kazakh citizens in Chengdu, and actively participate in the China-Kazakhstan Regional Cooperation Forum, thus opening a new chapter of win-win cooperation.

In addition, Ambassador Gabit Koishibayev also attended the Seminar of Industrial Development and Investment Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China (Chengdu) during his visit to Sichuan.
