On January 26, 2022, the "China Sichuan Belarus Gomel State Enterprise Economic and Trade Fair", CO-sponsored by CCPIT Sichuan Council, Gomel State Ｅxecutive Committee of Belarus and Gomel State Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, and supported by CCPIT Chongqing Council and Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, was held in Chengdu. Mr. Andre, Vice Chairman of Gomel state Ｅxecutive committee, Mrs. Huang Li, President of CCPIT Sichuan Council, and Mr. Dmitri, Consul General of Belarus in Chongqing, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. This conference is an important economic and trade activity under the framework of the "year of China Belarus local cooperation", making full use of the opportunity of establishing friendly provinces and states between our province and Gomel State, tapping the potential opportunities of Belarus and promoting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Belarus.

In her speech, President Huang Li thanked all guests for their support for Sichuan's opening to the outside world and the work of CCPIT Sichuan Council. She pointed out that in the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus, bilateral relations have been moving forward. In 2021, the total import and export trade between Sichuan and Belarus was nearly 250 million US dollars. One belt, one road, is the main starting point for the development of Sichuan's economic circle, the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the construction of the "one belt along the way", the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt and the development of the western region in the new era. As a trade and investment promotion organization led by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, CCPIT Sichuan Council will make full use of this economic and trade fair to promote the continuous deepening of cooperation between Sichuan and Belarus.

Mr. Andre, Vice Chairman of the Ｅxecutive Committee of Gomel State, pointed out in his speech that China is one of the three major trading partners of Belarus and Belarus is an important strategic partner of China in the Eurasian region. Over the past five years, Gomel's exports to China have increased 20 times. We hope to further expand bilateral economic cooperation and people to people and cultural exchanges.

One belt, one road initiative, was pointed out by Mr. Dmitri, Consul General of Belarus in Chongqing. His speech was that Belarus is one of the main participants in the "one belt and one road" initiative. In April 2021, Gomel State and Sichuan Province signed an agreement on establishing friendly provincial state relations. The operation of Chengdu Europe train and the establishment of Qingbaijiang Belarus National Pavilion will also further inject positive impetus into the economic and trade cooperation between Belarus and Sichuan Province.

At the meeting, representatives from Gomel chamber of Commerce and industry, Gomel agricultural and Food Commission, Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Chengdu International Railway Port focused on the construction opportunities of Chengdu Chongqing double city economic circle, Gomel key economic and trade cooperation platform, Gomel agricultural industry potential and Chengdu Europe train advantages.

Enterprise online negotiation

During the event, Gomel State held online one-to-one negotiations with more than 30 agricultural and food enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing, including Meishan global Mingyang Trading Co., Ltd., Sichuan Xilin import and export trade Co., Ltd., Sichuan Xiyue yiniu Trading Co., Ltd. and other enterprises, and reached cooperation intentions through negotiations. The representatives attending the meeting said that the content of the fair is rich, targeted and in line with the actual needs of enterprises. They hope that the CCPIT Sichuan Council will continue to build a good trade and investment promotion platform to deepen the cooperation between Sichuan enterprises and Belarusian enterprises.
